Hop

When people first here about the movie Hop they almost 100% write the movie as just another blandish kids movie that will entertain its core audience (which at times thats exactly what it does) but at times adds some flare and few bolts in there for that teen to adult audience. Russel Brand was perfectly casted as the lovable main Bunny! E.B. But its the films main heart that keeps it going. Yes i did feel the movies pace and what not felt to similar to the Alvin and the Chipmunks films (which is ironic because Same Director!). But as adults may find this movie dumb , dull and not funny. Which i can understand but in general its not. I actually found the films opening sequence to be quite entertaining. I thought it was decent for a kids flick anyways. Its by far a step-up from the 'Chipmunk' genre and can no where compare to 'Desp*cable Me' and is no where on the same level as 'Toy Story 3' but the kids should enjoy this one .. at least more than 'Rango' if you took your kids to that mess. But Hop is the perfect holiday film your kids are going to dig. It comes in time for Easter (which i know has already passed) but stilled you get the idea. But after this movie i swear you gonna be craving Candy , and your gonna want to sing the song "I Want Candy" at least thats what it felt like for me?. Maybe someone agrees. But Hop is a cute movie. At most.

Story: For Centuries and Centuries , there have been thousands of Easter Bunnies its a tradition passed on from father to son .. when the father is ready to retire. Well now E.B (Russel Brand) its his time to shine and when he was young thats all he wanted to do. But now all grown up , he wants to pursue his dream and become a professional drummer. When he uses a magical transport and goes to Hollywood to pursue his Dream he runs into or (gets hit) buy Fred (James Marsden). Buy the guilt Fred takes him in. But soon E.B is becoming to hard to handle and is interfering with Fred's personal and work life. But as he soon discovers that E.B is more than meets the eye and soon agrees to help him pursue his dream of becoming a professional dreamer. But submitting him into an America got talent type of deal , which all it is .. is David Hasselhoff. But he realizes E.B's talent instantly. This makes Fred begin to discover a new Career path , which must enlist in the help of E.B ... so he can try and be the worlds First 'Human' Easter Bunny , but with an evil chick named 'Carlos' who is tired of being Easter Bunnies 2nd hand man .. and deserves to be on top and will do whatever it takes , along with his lovable sidekick 'Phil' who loves Music More than working he is just the "Cutest" thing.

Story: As i stated in my overall quote its Seemingly original. It's a moderate improvement on how we all view easter or how the youngsters are going to view Easter. At least it did for me , but at the same time there taking Easter way to far at times i mean its not Xmas but i did think the whole workshop and little Chicks (which could be seen as elf's) but other than that .. its a sad story that gets (Spoiler) turned into a happy ending (of course). Acting the blend of live action & animation was done good , James Marsden did his best , but he probably did this for the paycheck. but the lovable Bunny E.B was cute , and i smiled every time he made his way onto the screen. I mean for the movies sake you better hop he is a cute lovable bunny! .. which in the long run Yes .. yes he is. So thats one thing the marketing got right. Directing from acclaimed director Tim Hill. Whose is known for bringing us these kids movies. You can blame him for creating the GLORIOUS Alvin and the Chipmunks. But its the films visuals that were really good i mean the films opening title sequence was better than anything i had seen all year .. i mean i never look at how candy is made the same way again.

Overall: Hop is a harmless , cute , innocent , and furry fun ride the whole family is going to enjoy. Its inventive , creative and seemingly original. At times it feels like a kids movie with just enough humor in there to entertain the older audiences. Look at it this way in the long run , this is a Direct HIT kids movie. But for the older audience. Thats up to you. I enjoyed it , but then again its not targeted for you .. its one of those kids movie that could go both ways. Its good to add humor for adults .. but there not going to derive to far away from the kids stuff .. or else the whole film .. kids are going to be confused and not follow what is already an easy storyline. This is not as complex or inappropriate as 'Rango'. This film "Hop" i am glad to say is more kid friendly than anything. The film could have made it shorter. Kids might find this hard to sit through. Another thing i would like to comment on is the films Soundtrack it was catchy and nice. I head songs there were nice , and thats might be because of the whole Drummer thing , but caution you may find yourself tapping your feet in your chair. But you will be craving some kind of chocolate bunny by the films closing credits.
